This is a "looking for male perspective" question.
If you (male) have a friend (female) and she expresses something along the lines of:
- I miss you, when can I see you?
- You ignore me when you have a girlfriend. Why?
- You're awesome (followed by BIG HUG)
Or something along those lines...
Do you assume that she WANTS you? Or do you take it at face value?

I never assume any woman wants me.
I would take it at face value. I have a lot of female friends so I learned long ago that attention from a girl doesn't automatically equate to "I WANT YOU!!!"
I take stuff like this at face value, but I know that others tend to take it to mean more - which is usually wishful thinking on their part!
I assume that a woman does not want me unless she is ripping my clothes off and forcing her tongue down my throat. I take that as a sign that she might fancy me.
I would take it at face value, although if I was really good friends with that person, I might ask them to elaborate.
Just from the female perspective? When I say any of those three things, I am saying exactly what I mean...no hidden agenda.
Face value.
Especially if it's a venue in which one of us is dancing and the other tossing money on a stage.
Good question!
I'd assume it means nothing more than face value, but could see how someone desperate or someone that is really into the person mightexpect it to mean more...
Yes, Dear.
I'd say no but the girlfriend thing is a bit on the odd side I'd say.
But I read way way way too much into things...
I would think that any friendship serious enough to elicit such sentiment would already be clearly defined.
I do think the "You ignore me when you have a girlfriend. Why?" comment deserves special attention, though. In my experience, guy friends automatically understand that when you have a new girlfriend, you are likely to disappear for a while. Therefore, when asked this question by a female friend, the guy may be confused. It hints at jealousy which can lead ones thoughts down a completely unintended pathway.
